Marie Devers, formerly senior editor, has been promoted to director of new business. Devers, who has been with Northeast Editing, Inc., since 2005, is now responsible for acquiring and maintaining relationships with new clients as well as implementing and managing new projects. Her background as a composition and literature instructor, a published author, and an innovative thinker have made her an asset to the company and will play an integral role in her new position. Devers holds a B.A. in English from Saint Joseph’s University and an M.F.A. from the University of Alaska, Fairbanks.

In addition, Trilby Greene, formerly managing editor, has been promoted to editorial director.
Taking Greene’s place as managing editor is Lindsay Rock, formerly senior editor. Rock, who has been with the company since 2003, will oversee many of the company’s daily operations and work closely with in-house staff and subcontractors to ensure timely delivery of quality educational products.

Tracey Vasil Biscontini Receives the Top 25 Women in Business Award

March, 2009—Northeast Editing, Inc., is pleased to announce that its president and CEO, Tracey Vasil Biscontini has been named one of the Top 25 Women in Business in Northeast Pennsylvania. Each recipient of the award is recognized as a business owner and top performer in her field—a power broker in the regional economy. Biscontini and the other recipients will be honored at a luncheon at the Hilton Scranton Conference Center on June 9.

“This is an incredible honor,” explains Biscontini. “When I started Northeast Editing, Inc., in 1992, I worked out of a home office, so I could be close to my young children. The company has grown. I now have eight full-time editors and more than 50 subcontractors. My staff and I work for some of the largest publishers in the country, and we truly love what we do and consider each other extended family.”

“Young professionals who want to find work in publishing usually have to move to major cities,” explains Marie Devers, a senior editor at Northeast Editing, Inc. “But Tracey’s employees make a living doing what they love right here in Northeast Pennsylvania. She is truly one of the best and brightest businesswomen in our area.”

The eighth annual Top 25 Women in Business Award is sponsored by the National Association of Women Business Owners and the Northeast Pennsylvania Business Journal.
